In honor of Filipino American History Month, we remember that history is made by those whose voices are heard. We amplify the voices of those who need to be heard along with our own. Wristbands will be sold in order to raise funds to support the Philippine Red Cross's efforts in providing aid to those in need following recent typhoons and flooding in the Philippines.
FilAmplified is a celebration of our cultural identity, the Filipino and the American. It is a legacy of our families, and the struggles that every generation before us has endured in order for us to have the opportunities to develop and share our talents with the world. It is not only meant for Filipinos, but for everyone, that we might amplify our voices together. History doesn't repeat itself, but it does rhyme. At FilAmplified, we hope to show that we are proud of our Filipino heritage, and how the celebration of diversity can still bring people together. |

FilAmplified is a showcase of the different talents of the University of Maryland community. From dancing, to singing, to poetry, and more, the UMD community has a rich variety of creativity and expression. We are here to identify and amplify what makes each individual, either performer or audience member, proud of themselves, their culture, and their community.
